Bloomington, IL (October 15, 2015) – Gaggle, a leader in educational technology for more than 15 years, has been recognized twice by Tech & Learning magazine’s prestigious Awards of Excellence. Gaggle’s new School & District Websites product won an Award of Excellence for Best New Product and the Gaggle Safe Classroom Learning Management System (LMS) won an Award of Excellence for Best Upgraded Product.
Now in its 33rd year, the Tech & Learning Awards of Excellence program recognizes software, hardware, network, app and web-based products that break new ground or add significant enhancements to an existing edtech product.
Since becoming available during the 2014-15 school year, schools and districts across the country have turned to Gaggle for a modern, yet affordable, website presence. Gaggle School & District Websites include responsive website designs, a configurable theme library and one-of-a-kind Reputation Management, which protects websites from hackers and malicious use. The same safety controls found inside the Gaggle Safe Classroom LMS are applied to website content, reverting content or alerting school officials when a website has been compromised.
An early adopter of the School & District Websites product, Rowan-Salisbury School System and its websites were recently recognized by The North Carolina Public Relations Association for excelling in communication efforts in promoting public education. “Gaggle provided us exactly what we were looking for,” said Candace Salmon-Hosey, Executive Director of Technology and CTE Services, Rowan-Salisbury School System. “We’re able to safely, easily and effectively publish content that keeps our parents and community members up to date, while presenting Rowan-Salisbury Schools as a professional organization.”
The Gaggle Safe Classroom LMS includes safety controls such as an Anti-Pornography Scanner and a customizable Blocked Words List to flag inappropriate content. Gaggle Student Safety Representatives then review flagged content and apply consistent, school- or district-approved policies for positive intervention. Updated LMS features include “Workspace,” which allows teachers to easily create, assign, collect and score digital worksheets and assessments and align questions to state standards.
