It takes a special person to work on our Safety Management Team. These former educators and members of law enforcement, who also have backgrounds in psychology, sociology and social work, take tremendous pride in what they do.

So, this past summer, no one at Gaggle was surprised when the team started keeping track of the lives it saves by reviewing suspicious content and alerting our school or district emergency contacts to imminent suicide threats. Gaggle Safety Representatives have helped prevent 122 suicides this school year and counting.

This case study shares one of those stories. We’re grateful for the administrators at Wausau School District for sharing how, within minutes, a student’s life was saved with the help of Gaggle Safety Management. Other highlights in this case study include how:

  • The district's digital transformation includes devices and student access to email and online file storage.
  • Wausau schools quickly realized that digital citizenship lessons were not a complete solution to the issue of student safety.
  • The district values the important relationship it has with its local police department.
