As a former Director of Technology with a school district in Louisiana, Gaggle’s LaShona Dickerson has a unique perspective. In her previous role, LaShona was a district partner. Now the Regional Sales Manager for Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas, her efforts to protect students in the digital world spread even further.

Start date: July 9, 2018.

We asked LaShona five questions to get to know a little more about her and her time with Gaggle. Here’s what she had to say:

What are three words to describe Gaggle?
  • Family-oriented: Although many of us are remote, it still feels like a family!
  • Compassionate: It’s very important to have a collective group of individuals who you’re able to collaborate with to make a larger impact. For Gaggle, that impact is student safety.
  • Driven: It’s rare that you find an organization that has core values and actually lives by them. I appreciate these values and can align myself with them. If you aren’t aligned with what a company is about, then you probably aren’t at the right company.

What drew you to Gaggle?
I worked for a school district that partnered with Gaggle and had a long-standing relationship with the company. I truly believed in what Gaggle did—I saw the value and had an automatic attraction to the company’s purpose. Leaving my role to join Gaggle gave me the opportunity to impact more districts than just mine.

What have you gained from working at Gaggle?
I think I’ve gained a new perspective on what it means to be a solution provider/partner. Previously, I only saw that relationship from the district side. Now I’m able to see it from the provider side—I try to be a true partner for my districts because I’ve walked in their shoes.

What is your proudest moment at Gaggle?
My first opportunity to work with a district to protect their students!

What is your favorite memory at Gaggle?
When I first came on board, I got to meet people in person who I’d had phone conversations with in my previous role and was immediately greeted like family. They knew me, but had never met me before then!

Since making the shift from Director of Technology to Regional Sales Manager, LaShona has quickly adapted to her new role and is a fantastic addition to the Gaggle family. She says, “By working together, we are able to have a larger and better impact on school districts and the lives of children. That’s an experience you can’t beat!”
