Jodi Lott has been passionate about education throughout her entire career. A former special education teacher, Jodi now helps keep kids safe as Gaggle’s Regional Sales Manager for Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Rhode Island.

Start date: September 24, 2018

We asked Jodi five questions to get to know a little more about her and her time with Gaggle. Here’s what she had to say:

What are three words to describe Gaggle?

  • Mission-driven: After learning about what Gaggle does and the company’s mission to keep students safe, I knew this was the right place for me.
  • Integrity: Our kids have access to all of the same sources of information that adults do—and with a device in their hands at all times, they are more exposed than ever. It gives me a great feeling to know that the work we are doing at Gaggle helps save students from making mistakes that will stay with them for years to come.
  • Kid-focused: Everything we do at Gaggle is centered around whether or not it will help to keep kids safe! We’re constantly evolving in our approach, but the mission is always the same.

What drew you to Gaggle?
I wasn’t looking for a job—I was content where I was. But when a friend introduced me to Jeff (Gaggle’s founder and CEO) and I learned about what Gaggle does, there was no way I could not work for the company. Given my education background, and being the daughter of a suicide attempt survivor, I knew this was where I had to be.

What have you gained from working at Gaggle?
A family! I don’t think I’ve ever felt so cared for in my entire life—I truly feel like Gaggle is home. The work that we do here feels right and has given me so much insight into what’s happening in student mental health today.

What is your proudest moment at Gaggle?
I was at a conference and an assistant superintendent approached me. With tears in her eyes, she thanked me and said that in the 18 months she had been in her role, Gaggle had saved two students in her district. I was new to Gaggle and it blew me away to be sought out and recognized like that! Similar scenarios play out like this all the time when I meet people from other Gaggle districts, and it’s so incredibly meaningful every time.

What is your favorite memory at Gaggle?
An administrator called to tell me he was planning to accept a position in a new district. He wanted to explore what would need to be done to ensure Gaggle would be added to the new district along with him. That was such a win-win for me because it meant we had done a good job in his current district and we would soon be adding to the growing list of students that we protect when he started his new role!

Jodi’s passion for education and student safety make her a wonderful asset to Gaggle. She says, “I love talking to people about what we do and who we are as a company. With Gaggle, school districts can get the assistance they need in order to better identify and connect to kids who need support.”
