208-44 QE-Mail Software - Standard Subscription Service (No Ads)

The Standard Subscription version of the Gaggle Email service is similar to the free service but with no advertisements of any kind and many additional features.

The Standard Version includes the following features:

• 50 megabytes of storage space allocated per user (The free version has a 2.5 MB limit.)
• Anti-Pornography Scanner
• Built in Language Translation with 13 different language pairs
• Auditory Feedback System to support students with special needs
• Advanced Virus Protection
• Pop3 and smtp mail access (Send and retrieve mail from Outlook, Eudora etc.)
• Ability to move students between schools
• Online Spell checking
• District level accounts for controlling multiple schools

Gaggle's pricing is designed to encourage the school or district wide adoption of online communication tools. Substantial discounts are offered to customers that provide email accounts to the entire student body. The price per account is based upon the number of accounts ordered.

Gaggle's hosted service is Priority 1 E-Rate eligible. All schools qualify for reimbursement by the Federal Government's Schools and Libraries Division. The reimbursement rate can be as much as 90% of the cost to the school.

To qualify for a School wide/district wide subscriptions, 90% of the student body should receive an account. Please contact your Gaggle representative for details.


209-45 QE-Mail Software - Gaggle Installed Software License (Managed Service)

Your school or district can purchase its' own Gaggle email server. This would be an advertising free version of the service that you control. It would use less of your school's internet bandwidth since it would be hosted on your regular network.

We will remotely install the system and software on your server. (Equipment provided by the district.) You simply install the OS and plug the server into your ethernet network. The system will be handed over ready for you to input your student data. You can setup and run several different schools from the same system.

The cost for this would depend upon the size of your school or district. The first year cost starts at $6,000 for the server and $1.75 for each account needed beyond 2,000 users. The license for subsequent years is $1.75 per account with a minimum renewal price of $4,000.
Gaggle personnel will setup the server and help monitor the system for potential problems. As part of the annual renewal cost, Gaggle will update your server installation each year to our most recent version.

The Gaggle system is a custom java application running on Linux Red Hat 9.0. To properly maintain the system, we recommend that a staff member be familiar with Linux and have strong database skills.




Maintenance, Repair and Support Plan

As a hosted ASP solution, Gaggle.Net is responsible for maintaining the functionality and responsiveness fo the servers and systems.

Customer service support is provided Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM Central Standard Time via telephone and email. Support is provided free of charge to students, teachers and district staff. During non-business hours, email support is available with a response time of less than 12 hours.

Statement of Guarantee

This service level agreement is an informal contract between Gaggle.Net and the customer, which outlines the basic Terms of Service. Gaggle.Net is proud to offer an exceptional level of performance, reliability, security and service. Our Service Level Agreement provides a framework for understanding and outlines our responsibilities to the customer.

We guarantee 99.5% uptime for the Gaggle network's web site and smtp servers excluding planned downtime. A typical maintenance update is a rebuild of the Sybase database and is done during off-peak periods. This periodic maintenance is typically performed on Wednesday and Saturday mornings, between 1:00 AM and 2:00 AM Central Standard Time, and will normally not exceed 30 minutes. The servers are continuously monitored for performance and availability.

These products are sold under as an annual subscription license. At the discretion of the customer a three year license may be purchased.

Gaggle.Net, Inc. will make available equivalent replacement parts for any product sold to the state for at least 3 years after the product is discontinued.
